Ilan P. Goldberg, MD
Ilan Goldberg is a senior resident in psychiatry at the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry program located at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s/Faulkner Hospitals, Massachusetts Mental Health Center, and Children’s Hospital Boston. After completing his undergraduate degree at Amherst College in philosophy and chemistry, Ilan taught philosophy and mathematics at a therapeutic boarding school for emotionally-troubled teenagers. He then attended McGill University Faculty of Medicine where he learned and practiced medicine in a universal health care system. Ilan is interested in developing a systematic approach to performing capacity evaluations in patients approaching the end of life, specifically whether or not they have the wherewithal to allow for informed decision-making around withdrawal of care and physician-assisted suicide.
